In the evocative setting of the Via Lattea, in a village-like location in the Upper Val di Susa, architect Vincenzo Pavia signs an interior project that integrates respectfully into a historic, almost sacred landscape.
Spanning 300 square meters across four levels, the chalet reinterprets traditional Alpine architecture through a contemporary approach: fine woods clad floors, ceilings, and walls, creating an enveloping effect, while inserts of burnished iron and locally split stone introduce modern accents.
Every furnishing element is born from a bespoke design: sculptural tables and coffee tables, integrated boiserie, custom-made furniture and wardrobes that blend seamlessly into the architecture. The project celebrates artisanal excellence through collaborations with historic craftsmen such as Lamma Parquet, while tactile textiles—raw woven linen, wool, alpaca—enrich the spaces with material comfort.
Lighting becomes an integral part of the project: a large chandelier with cylindrical elements takes center stage in the main space, defining the room with a sculptural rhythm. In the dining area, three large glass sculptures add a sense of plasticity to a more contained space.
The result is a contemporary retreat where luxury is expressed through authentic materials, refined details, and a respectful dialogue with the Alpine landscape.
