In his purist approach to architecture and design, Eero Saarinen sought the essential idea and reduced it to the most effective structural solution. One of the most iconic examples is the single-leg design of his Pedestal Collection. These pieces of majestic lightness were born out of a desire to eliminate the visual clutter created by the “forest of legs” beneath traditional chairs and tables. The Tulip Chair and accompanying Pedestal Table have become symbols of mid-twentieth-century modern design and cornerstones of Knoll’s design legacy.
Solid, durable die-cast aluminum base.
The seat swivels to make it easier to move in and out of the table.
